The Wild Type is a solid perfume caught between the sea and the desert — cool marine air across the top, warm amber sitting underneath, and a spicy thread running through the middle to join them. Fresh on the first swipe, warm an hour later.

Why you'll love it

  • Fresh up front, warm underneath — the marine and spice notes read cool on application while the amber builds behind them, so the scent changes character as it warms on the skin.
  • Keeps the fresh notes longer — marine accords are the first thing to disappear from an alcohol spray; held in wax and oil, they linger well past the opening.
  • Goes exactly where you point it — fingertip application onto pulse points, so nothing drifts onto clothes, hair, or anyone nearby.
  • Pocket-sized and leak-proof — the balm sits in a slim slide-top metal tin, so there is no glass to break, no pump to jam, and nothing to seep into a handbag or a packed suitcase.
  • No alcohol on the skin — the base is oil and wax only, so it skips the sharp, drying pinch a spray can leave on wrists and neck.

Key ingredients

  • Wax base — gives the balm its solid form and melts at skin temperature, releasing the marine and amber layers in sequence rather than together.
  • Carrier oil — carries the fragrance and leaves a light conditioning film, so the balm glides on rather than dragging.
  • Essential oil — the naturally extracted part of the blend, responsible for the cool, spicy lift you notice first.
  • Fragrance oil — holds the amber base steady for hours after the fresh opening has faded.

The full ingredient list is printed on the tin.

Who it's for

Unisex, and suited to anyone from their teens upward - fresh-and-spicy blends sit comfortably on any skin. Fine on all skin types. As with any fragrance, patch test a small amount on the inner forearm and wait 24 hours before wearing it on the neck.

  1. Slide the lid open and press a fingertip into the balm for a second or two to warm it.

  5. Slide the lid shut after use and keep the tin out of direct sunlight. For external use only; avoid contact with the eyes.

FAQ

Q1. How long does the scent last on skin?

Longer than you would expect from a 10 g balm. The fragrance is held in wax and oil rather than in solvent, so the fresh marine notes survive well past the opening instead of disappearing in minutes. Press a little more behind the ears if you want it to carry into the evening.

Q2. Is it fresh or warm?

Both, in that order. The marine and spice notes read cool on the first swipe, and the amber underneath builds as the balm warms, so the scent is noticeably warmer an hour in than it was at the start.

Q3. How long will a 10 g pack last?

Roughly two to three months of daily wear, on the basis that one wearing takes a single fingertip swipe across two or three pulse points. Reapplying through the day will get you through it faster.

Q4. Does it contain alcohol?

No. The base is wax and carrier oil only, which is why it goes on as a balm rather than a spray and does not leave the tight, cold feeling a spray can.

Q5. Will it melt in an Indian summer?

It softens in heat, which is what a wax balm does, and it sets again as it cools without affecting the scent. Keep it out of a parked car and away from direct sunlight and it holds its shape year-round.
